7th Grade Science First Period-1st period Assignments

This worksheet goes along with the IXL practice. That's okay if you haven't access to IXL on the computer, just use past knowledge. (We covered this in Sept.) Try you best. The link calls it an Assessment(Test) and its worth 100 points. I am calling it a worksheet and a grade will be taken(so you will do this) but not necessarily 100 pts. Remember the only thing that can hurt you or your grade is not trying. First glance may look hard or unfamiliar, but keep looking it can be figured out.

This is on thermal energy. I think you can use you past experiences and knowledge to answer these questions. Don't let the word "Thermal" throw you it just means HEAT. Just use what you know about how things get hot and answer these questions. Sometimes you may make a stupid mistake cause you are in a hurry but look at it and try again. Don't give up. Section I. has only two sub sections just do #1. You can do this .

Go to IXL and work on sections E and F. You may work at your own pace but please try and master as many of the skills in this time frame. You can go back and work on any skill again if you haven't mastered it. IXL lets me know who has worked on skills and who hasn't and what skills you have accomplished. This information will be the basis of the grade you will receive. You only have until May 8th for assignments and until May 15th to complete them and turn them in. I let you work at your own pace, but a due date is given to you for framework to work in. If you need paper you must have let me know and have it turned in no later than 2 days past the due date. If you use IXL you must sign in to your account every time. The link below just shows you the skills for you to practice for the week.

You may use notes if you have them but here is a quiz for the use of lab tools and equipment. Please be sure to submit your quiz when finished. This is a grade. I will send home a paper copy for those who don't have computer access or able to do on their phone.

The Assignments for next week will posted below. I have you set up for Science. I have set up a link to IXL. It will say it is ungraded but your grade depends on what you practice and accomplish this week. You may work on it all at once or one day at a time it is up to you. Mark done when you have completed ALL the work.

This assignment will hopefully be fun. Below I have 3 different recipes for making homemade bubble solution.
I have listed instructions that you can follow to make giant bubble wands. I know these list materials that you can purchase, but i want you to be creative and substitute what you have at home with what is listed. You can come up with your own design. Word of advice you need string, twine, or material for your solution to attach to and make the bubble. I have used clothes hangers and wrapped the wire in old material or pantie hose. I know who wears pantie hose. After seeing the rubber band cars I know you can come up `really good stuff. PS I know most won't have glycerin so you won' be able to do this one.

All students in this class should have two packets of material.

Day two ----Reviewing Root Words

Day three- Energy Flow in the ecosystem

Day four--- Scientific method

Day five--Genetics

Day six--- Read works- Protecting Migrating Animals-- develop 5 questions and answers for each video

Day seven- Malai's Mission-- Be sure to submit work.

Day eight-- The Amazon Rainforest-- Be sure to submit work
