2019-2020 school year update

Arkansas Governor, Asa Hutchinson, has announced all Arkansas public schools will remain closed to on-site instruction for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year.  All district schools will continue to provide instruction through the AMI, Alternate Method of Instruction, program.  Please contact your building principal or teachers regarding questions about these assignments.  All school events such as proms, banquets, group meetings, competitions, etc. have also been cancelled.  Graduation ceremonies may still be held, but not at the regularly scheduled time due to the closure.  More announcements will be forthcoming regarding graduation.  Also, the AAA has extended the “dead period” rule for all school facilities until further notice.  This is a very difficult and disappointing time.  No one wanted the 2019-20 school year to end this way but we must make the best of what we can.  I hope and pray each of you remain healthy in body, mind and spirit.

Gary Hines, Superintendent
