IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS FOR 2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR
New requirements announced in 2014 by the Arkansas Department of Health include several immunizations for Arkansas school children and are still in effect for the 2017-2018 school year. A summary of immunization requirements is listed below.
All students must be up-to-date with their immunizations in order to start school in August 2017. Documentation of immunizations must be turned in to the School Nurse prior to the start of school. Immunizations can be obtained from your personal physician or local health departments by appointment only. You may call Lafayette County Health Unit at 870-921-5744.
REQUIRED IMMUNIZATIONS *DTaP: 4 doses required, with the last one being given after 4th birthday *IVP (Polio): 3 doses required, with the last one being given after 4th birthday *MMR: 2 doses, first one after the 1st birthday *Hepatitis B: 3 doses * Hepatitis A: 1 dose required for All Kindergarten AND First Grade students *Varicella: 2 doses *Tdap: 1 dose required for ALL students 11 years old by September 1st of each year *MCV4: 1 dose required for ALL 7th graders and a second dose at age 16
